About the Company
Flubit is the UK's largest independent marketplace (as in we are not Amazon, but still have millions products on our books). We are not an affiliate program but instead hold real-time inventory for thousands of UK merchants via our own API or integrations into other eCommerce solutions.
Our key selling point? Over 1 Million items cheaper than Amazon, every week! The reality is we have many, many more than that!
We are also SKUcloud.co.uk - where thousands of merchants can integrate and make new sales on Flubit.com and our destination partners (e.g. The Mirror), and also where any Company who wants access to over 80% of UK's consumer goods can come and get them.
We've been around for 6+ years and plan on staying around for a while longer!
What we stand for
We want to improve the way people buy and sell online. Our technology and services empower consumers to buy for less, merchants to sell more products, and any business to be able to sell almost any product they want from their website/app.
Amazon is pushing UK merchants out of the market and we believe the monopoly-like environment they are creating is harming us all. Amazon makes an average of 15% off every sale made on Amazon.co.uk meaning that UK merchants find it harder and harder to compete. SKU Cloud charges no fees to merchants, allowing them to sell at more competitive prices for the consumer and allowing them to keep their margin. Instead we take a fee from anybody who would like access to nearly all the consumer goods in the UK, this way we believe the market can be more efficient, both for the consumer and the merchant.
Who we are
We are a team of 30 individuals working towards a common cause using the absolute best of our abilities. We are building something completely new in a world where not much has changed since the 90s. It requires quite a bit of creativity, guts, and hard work - but we believe we can change ecommerce forever.
Why work at Flubit and SKU Cloud?
We really believe we are making a difference and solving a pretty large problem and we're not the only ones who think so, we triumphed at the 2016 Retail Week Tech Sprint, won the European Web Summit, and were shortlisted in the National Business Awards, eCommerce Awards, and The StartUp Awards, among many others.
Join us in a quest to help the UK consumer and UK merchant. Oh, and enjoy the following perks you'll see throughout this website!
Who says that working in London is all work and no play, or that commuting has to be a waste of time? Flubit gives you the flexibility and resources to have a great work / life balance and enjoy a healthy lifestyle. You don't need to put your life on hold to work at Flubit. Enjoy only the best London has to offer.
Flexible Working Hours
Be in charge of your own schedule, if you like to gym in the morning, avoid rush hour, or are meeting a friend after work we wont stop you. Our office is open for 7.30am till 7.30pm and you pick the hours in-between to work.
Cycle storage on site + Showers
Commuting can be life-draining, but it doesn’t have to be! Flubit offices are right next to the CS3 (cycle superhighway) and right on the north bank Thames path. Cycle to work, we provide space to store your stuff and showers for you to easily change. Commuting isn't too bad either, we're next to the Overground, Underground and DLR
Great Office Space
In case it's raining outside and you want to just enjoy the office we have couches to hang out on, and Xbox to play, a table tennis table, a pool table, darts and adding more whenever we come across something cool. Music plays in the office all day, and we have meeting/break-out rooms for some quiet work. Downstairs in the lobby is an amazing chill-out area, complete with its own barista, fireplace and cozy area.
Lunch Delivered to the Office
Yep that's right, if the restaurants in the area are just far to far to walk to, then fear not, every lunch-time a sandwich, wrap, salad and snack hero visits our office and off-load some yummy goodness. Check out the photo of Ed buying a sandwich, 'tis riveting!
If you don't fancy getting up early to gym, but want to flex those muscles or stretch those hamstrings, then look no further than Met Wharf (where we work). There's an in-house gym that has all the stuff you'll want to get a good work-out, plus Hot Yoga!
Great Office Location
An office facing the river thames on the thames path, 5+ parks less than 10 minutes away to sit during lunch hours, a gym with a pool, football pitch and classes of all types 5 minutes walk from us, a basin with kayaking classes every Tuesday, a Friday food market 15minutes walk away at amazing St. Katherine Docks and so much more.
We don’t like micromanaging. We like to hire independent hard working individuals who we trust to do their job and they trust us to make their job as friction less as possible. Our benefits and perks reflect that mentality - it's up to you how you use it.
A budget for you to spend - our benefits
For us, this is big - and it will be for you too. Every month at Flubit, on top of your salary you get a budget for you to spend on almost anything you do outside of work. The longer you stay with Flubit the higher the budget gets, that simple. Feel like going to a conference? You decide if you want to study, gym daily, take a trip to Nepal, get health insurance for you and your loved ones or put it in a pension (or do a bit of everything). Potentially the most relaxed benefits scheme out there.
After spending at least 6 months with the company, you may be given options into the company. These options will vest over time so you'll own more and more of the company the longer you stay with us. This means that the hard work you put in can materialise into more money in the future if the company were to sell or IPO. See an uplift one the work you put in, don't just work for the shareholders, work for yourself too.
Joining a new company can be dauting and life in London can be lonely (especially if you're new around here). We are a great team that likes to be social and can thus provide the support you might need. Working with fun people you like makes at least 40 hours a week a lot more enjoyable
Every week after Friday lunch, we bring out the drinks and snacks and hear an update from Bertie the CEO (even when he's abroad!) and then listen to somebody around the company chat about what they're working on or an idea they'd like to share. This allows for everybody to find out what others are working on and gives everybody a chance to practice their public speaking skills if they'd like too. However, it is also a great opportunity to have some tipple and food - if it's been your birthday, you'll be in for some cake too!
Company days out
It's incredibly important to everybody at Flubit feels like part of the team, working towards a common cause. Once we reached the threshold where we no longer all fit into one office (we have two next to each other) we introduced company days out where we literally all stop working for a day and go do something fun together. In the past we've done GoApe, GoKarting, Climbing over the O2, we've kayaked, high roped, bell-boat raced, and lately we've even been killing zombies and we even ran our own FlubiLympics ... be part of the next one!
There's other changes to get to know everybody you work with - join one of our work socials which usually follows on from our demo's. In the past we've been bowling, ping 'poinging', we've watched Sin City and Back to the Future on our office projectors, we've played Fifa, we've been to Pub Quizes and we've had our own quiz.. the list goes on an on.
We have regular pool, table tennis, Fifa '16 and fantasy football tournaments (and you're free to start another one if you wish) going around the office. It's a great way to get a bit competitive and get to know everybody in the office.
Flubit have their own football team, that needs a little help to win more matches. All levels welcome - run around, enjoy the sun and break up the work day. Join the Flubit at the Tamebay cup once a year!
Start your own
If there's something you love doing, then why not start it yourself. For example one of our team members started a Get Fit club, and someone else has built the first Flubit library. Why not bring your interests to us?
We want creative, intelligent, hard working individuals who can get passionate about making Flubit the best it can be.
There's still so many things to discover, so many problems to solve that you'll be required to work closely with different departments and work on things slightly outside your role.
We believe that's what makes a start up, the team culture and the willingness of everybody to get their hands dirty. In return we will work incredibly hard to ensure you enjoy your time at Flubit surrounded by only the best people in a great location having fun.

Yep, those pictures help sum up the two founders of Flubit. Bertie likes to speak in public and think people are listening intently, Adel loves to takes selfies.
But without them Flubit wouldn't have started, and without starting we wouldn't be doing the cool things we do today.
It all began in 2010/2011 (depending who you talk to)... Bertie sat in his bedroom, came up with an idea and a few months later sent Adel a text...
"Have you heard of GroupOn?"
Of course, it turns out by the time Flubit went live, Flubit was nothing like GroupOn - but Adel and Bertie quickly raised £550k, which set us off on the journey of raising over $20m, and creating the largest independent marketplace in the country for products.
Both Bertie and Adel still focus daily on making Flubit a global power, and they can only do us with us, the team - and luckily they do spend quite a bit of cash on us!
Last year, Bertie & Adel were included in The Sunday Times 500 most influential people in Britain. The list included Adele, Prince Harry, J.K. Rowling and Sir Elton John (among others) - you can read about it here.
We have three development teams, a data science team and an infrastructure team. We have 3 fully functional websites to upkeep, APIs to update, applications to keep running and new things to build daily! Lots of challenges ahead - scalling, internationalisation, mobile applications, and the list goes on and on.
Join the team and help us tackle these issues!
Hackathons (2-3 times a year)
2 day hackathon events were you can join up with other developers from around Flubit or work on your own to build something cool! Different hacks are then presented and awards given. Pizza, drinks, awards and time provided by Flubit.
Lunchtime talks on anything tech - get involved and talk about something close to your heart or simply listed to others present and then join in the discussion. A great way to keep on top of things in the industry and share knowledge around.
Working on IOS or Windows based on preference
Work on Windows or a Mac based on preference, or even Linux if you want!
Agile, Github, Slack, you name it - we're doing it
We're a start up and we develop like one. Only we don't use AWS (for obvious reasons)...
Want regular updates about Flubit? We keep a very active blog (updating every couple of days).
On the blog we add articles about the industry that's making us excited, product reviews for things we've tried out, things we're up to and the rest.
We allow Facebook in the offices, which means we can update our Facebook page. Customers love to talk to us on Twitter, including merchant customers, whilst others prefer to send us photos on pinterest. Bertie's (founder background is also videos, so we love to do add videos to our YouTube page too.
For a more formal aproach, why not check out our LinkedIn
Finally, you might be wondering what our customers are saying about us? You weren't? Well now you are. Great thought! Check out our Trust Pilot and Review Centre - we're really proud how positive these are.
People write about us because we're doing something special. We have millions of products and sell them to the UK for less, and with SKU Cloud we can give companies the ability to sell almost any product in the country!
In the last few months we've had great features and articles in The London Evening Standard, The Telegraph, International Business Times, The Sun, Money Saving Expert, Moneywise, Tamebay, Tech Crunch, The Guadiran, The Next Web, Yahoo Finance, Forbes, Evigo......
We also advertise on TV, the Radio, billboards and more!
If you want a complete list why not check out our friends at Google who keep a personalised list for us... or something like that.
Sometimes there are times when we want to make you feel as great as a cookie with milk, but we just can't find a section to put it in...
Here's a handful of those times....
The day of (or sometimes the day after) you start at Flubit, we put on a special morning event for you. We get some pastries in and welcome you to the team!
It's your special day, so we want you to feel special. If you decide to come into work you'll get a card and a special hat (if we can find it!). At the end of the month during demo day every birthday in that month will be sung to with a cake!
Had a baby? Have a Flubit branded baby outfit!!!... WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT? This one is more for us, it's so cute seeing your little thing in a Flubibaby suite....
At Christmas our office becomes a second home for Santa as we go over the top on our decorations. St Paddy's day we turn all green. We also like to get things all spooky for Halloween. On Feb 14th we get roses. For Halloween 2015 we had "Paper AirBat" competitions, and in 2016 we did Halloween Pictionary... most looked like Paper airplanes.
We know that not everyone celebrates Christmas, but for the most part everyone loves chocolate... so whether your a Santa believer or not, you can munch away at our December treats on everyone's desk.
Sometimes we dress up (don't worry, you don't have to), and when we do we go all out. Our favourite day is PJ day which happens the day after the Xmas Party - dress down, very down, even into dressing gowns!
ps. - The cookies on the right were baked by our founder Bertie for our cake and bake day!
Boom, look at those! Beautiful are they not? Some of our awards and certificates over the last few years.
In the grand history of all things Tech, only 5 companies have won the prestigious 'Web Summit' start-up award... and yes, we're one of them - it was a very humbling and very proud moment.
In January 2016 Flubit's founders were named in the 500 most influential people in Britain, in a list that included J.K Rowling, Prince Harry, Sir Elton John and many other notables figures. You can read about it here.
Also in December 2015 we came 3rd out of 1,500 in the People's Champion start-up award at StartUps.co.uk - we're really chuffed about that!
There's not space to name all our awards however :(
Come visit our offices and see! Yay!
At Flubit, it’s important to us that we hire people from all different backgrounds to add to the diverse range of skills and experience we have within our team. It’s quite the melting pot here with staff from all over the world and from all different backgrounds working at Flubit.
However for many young people, particularly in London, it can be difficult to get your foot in the door of a great company to work for, especially if you’re yet to build up a lot of experience in the workplace. People that find themselves in these kinds of situations are relying on their enthusiasm and willingness to help, and ambition to learn and achieve to shine through.
That’s exactly what happened with our latest official Flubit employee, Dave M, and you can read all about his story on our blog.
If you want to be an apprentice? Just get in touch and we'll see what we can do!
We've had a particularly good summer. We may not have AC, but we do have a lovely river breeze that cools us down.
We also have ice lollies too now... and there's one rule, you take an ice lolly, you have a photo taken of you... here's jus a couple.
Nom, nom, nom, nom
Every year we have a Summer BBQ. 2017 is no different!
See the team and the co-founder (Adel) enjoying some grilled delights!
This is Flubit's second Go Ape adventure, after successfully mastering the high-ropes course in 2013.
This time however we have some new team members, and we also decided to pick a different high-ropes course in the north-west of London.
Everyone was so proud of everyone else, for either completing the course, or at least giving it a great go! It takes alot of confidence to get up there and swing!
(on the subject of swinging, Dave, who only a few weeks ago had presented his first demo, took the Tarzan swing over 6 times!)
The FLOOR IS LAVA! But you need to get across only with planks... but the blanks can't touch the lava, only the wooden blocks that can survive...
Get the BLOCKS INTO THE HOLES! But you can't see, you can't touch them, and you have to use ropes to get there!
THERE ARE NUMBERS on the floor, AND YOU HAVE TO TOUCH THEM IN ORDER. How quick can you do it? (One Flubit team managed to get the course record in under 25 seconds!!).
That, and other team building activities, to keep the team excited and active about coming to work every day with a great team around them!
Coding, selling, customer servicing'ing, for £m worth of sales on a regular basis can be stressful, so what better way to take some of that stress out than by banging a drum and dancing? None, we agree.
With drum-master Jamie being our host for the day, the team were able to almost play a in-sync rhythm by the end; but where we may have struggled with synchronisation, we certainly made up for in dancing!
We love showing off about SKU Cloud, our technology and the services we can offer to the world with our merchants.
We have a very strong merchant team, and there's nothing better than shwoing the world that.
Every Friday, just after lunch, we stop work for around 30-45 minutes.
During this team we have snacks, drinks, Haribo, real-food, Haribo and more. Despite the yummies, the purpose is to hear notes from the co-founder and CEO (Bertie), and then watch a short presentation from a team member about the work they've been doing.
Dave i'm sure won't mind us saying that over the last 2.5 years he's been with us, presenting in public has never been something he's been comfortable doing, however today, in conjunction with the customer service team leader (Darrell), he presetned a Demo!
And. He. Was. Brilliant.
Well done Dave, we hope this is the first of many!
There's not much to say here.
New Flubi'Daddy brings in New Flubit'Baby for the first time...
...Work Stops. And no one questions it.
So cute, so amazing!
The day after the new launch, our partnership and merchant team were out in force promoting SKUcloud.co.uk - our B2B service.
Thanks to the TameBay also for interviewing long-serving team member Andy Stephen about the launch of our new marketplace!
April 4th 2017 will be a remembered as a special day in Flubit's lifecycle.
On this day, in the very early hours, we became a 'browse and search' marketplace.
Like all great launches, ours wasn't ready until the wee hours of the morning, so the teams stayed late, ate lots of food, and gave us a fantastic launch!
We love charity events day at Flubit. In 2016 we had cakes, bakes, runs, board games, jumpers... in March 2017 it was time for Red Nose day again!
The money we raise today will focus on major issues in the UK and Africa including malaria and domestic violence,! So we joined forces and had as much fun as we could while we help raise money for these amazing causes!
For the first time ever, 3 brave members decided to get their legs waxed, and one had their head shaved.
We were happy to raise £330 for Red Nose Day!
We constantly encourage our team to get out into the public and speak. It of course helps Flubit spread the word, but more importantly it helps the team member gain invaluable public speaking skills that will set them up for success throughout their career.
In March 2017, our COO, Steph Fiala stepped into the the speaking bubble of Retail Week Live to help upcoming entrepreneurs learn how to take the next step into starting a business. She did a great job!
Equality in the work place is something we're working towards, but have a long way to go. We're not there yet, and we always need to do better.
On International Women's Day, we decided to mark the occasion with a Feast of pastries.
At Flubit we have our own in-house library.
Every week our COO (and helped sometimes by others) adds a book to the library and writes about it on our internal social media.
For World Book Day 2017, we had a small gathering to talk about the books we loved.
I (Bertie) decided to bring up my favourite childhood story, The Phantom Tollbooth.... if you haven't read it, it will take you 2 hours, and you'll be left spellbound, by a tollbooth.
The joys of pancakes!
Every year at Flubit we try something a little different this day. Sometimes we buy pancakes in, sometimes we get a chef to come in and cook them for us.
This year we decided to make them ourselves, with a array of flavours.
Every year they just taste oh so yummy! Thanks to our in-house chefs!
We love welcoming new team members.
Over the past few months we've had a few people join us, and we felt it was about time they were fully introduced into our world!
MUGS for all! Welcome and enjoy!
The overwhelming desire to 'shoot' a team member with a torch light (or high powered laser, as we imagine) has long been a tradition here at Flubit. We're not 100% sure why, but a few times over the years we've set foot inside the dark chambers of a Laser Quest site, and gone "peow peow". Once we even did it with Zombies around us.
Today was that day again, with around 20 members of the team heading down to Whitechapel to rage pain-free war on each other, accompanied by some 90s techno music.
The teams were "Bart v Bert" - where Bert is our co-founder, and Bart is an experienced marksman. But, it turns out it was "Dom & Aaron" who led the way for their respective teams, coming top both times. Green team and Red split the honours in a frantic shoot-em-up that scored over 130,000 points a game.
Despite no-one really knowing how the points are caclualted, we all had a lot of fun!
For the second year running we've decided to recognise a completely fictional but incredibly delightful event, Blue Monday.
Blue Monday is the #alternativefact that around the 3rd Monday of January, people are at their potential most downbeat of the year... they're broke from Xmas, January pay is still a week away, it's cold and dark. The latter points i assume don't apply in Australia.
So to brighten up the minds and stomachs of people for the second year running, we became glutenous on Pizza. We upped the order by 20% this year, and still it was all gone within 45 minutes.
Next year we're going to need a bigger boat.
How do you brighten up a January day?
BRING A DOG TO WORK!
There's little more that we can add to the wonderful photos of Cosmo (the dog), other than it's spark gossip in the office we might make this a formal adventure...
Bring a Dog to Work Friday? .... let's mull that over!
Thanks Yulia for bringing in Cosmo, he was AMAZING!
In addition to really cool things (such as Team Breakfasts), nearly every team at Flubit & SKU Cloud start every morning with a standup.
Standups help the team organise their thoughts for the day, understand how they're progressing with their sprints/targets or challenges, and make sure if any team member is struggling to deliver, they can draw on their team for help.
If you come join a team at Flubit, I hope to see you at a standup one day.
One of my favourite parts about my life at Flubit is the initiative taken by teams, and the line-managers.
One day i walk into work, and whilst admiring the great downstairs we've had newly installed in our office building I bump into a team having breakfast together.
I had no idea this took place, but supposedly it's a regular occurrence and something this team works on doing regularly to keep team relations strong.
It really made me smile. I also received an unexpected croissant. Yum!
Think back, it's school, there's snow....wait for it... SNOW DAY!
So this diary entry isn't anything about the fun or games being put on for the team at Flubit, but more so the ridiculous nature of how our year in the office began.
First day back in the new year, 12:14, ZAPP, the power goes out. 45 minutes later, no power - everyone goes to work from home. Power returns at 18:00
Day two, 13:30, ZAPP, the power goes out, 20 minutes later we all head home to work. Power returns at 18:30
Day three - power all day!
Day four - 11:30, ZAPP... you get the picture.
HAPPY NEW YEAR OFFICE! It turns out a brand new gym has been installed in the office building and it's zapping all our power!
So we're happy to have a gym in our building, giving us fantastic rates, and something we're able to claim back on Company Benefits - but we wouldn't mind our power back...
Want to join us for the ride? Why not check out our vacancies.
